Judging from the location, proximity to homes clean up warranted just for the “hey look your government cares for you and the environment “. The clean up provided a source of income for a few folks and probably kept some lawyers away. Fortunate that no one seriously injured. And yes the reporter and copy editor had a skewed view of the accident.
