Someone I know read an article that suggested an additional motive could be that if Venezuela is stabilized and the people gain control of their country back there will no longer be a need for refugees to flee the country. It also might open the door to send the existing refugees back if they can’t claim they will face political persecution. Perhaps that may be a bonus on top of whatever other reasons are at play.
I agree! A stabilized Venezuela also enables the US to send the hard Venezuelan criminals that should have never been allowed into this country during the 2021-2024 timeframe to be sent back to Venezuelan prison where they belong. |
