I've learned that not offering a solution is just bitching. Status quo isn't gonna work.
Perhaps drugs aren't the only reason to save a fallen nation. Venezuela has lost 1/3 of their population under this corrupt regime. A great leader didn't just sit on his hands...he did something. That's what leaders do.
