 Northeast Indiana | We live in an area where we have 6" of top soil, 18" of grey/yellow clay, then a 2' band of gravel/field stone that sends more to the surface every year with the frost. We pick what we can when we can, but unless the land has been picked religiously for a couple generations you're behind the 8 ball. Best answer is a triple approach if possible - mechanical rock picker over worked ground followed by a roller after planting, and incorporating no-till/minimum till with a roller where possible. | |
