Not really. Operational tempo matters. Hours on airframes matters. Hours on ships matters. The stress they're subjected to matters. Between this and the Red Sea we're putting lot's of extra hours on things and expending extra munitions. That may come back to bite us in the ass.
Not trying to be a contrarian - I just view Depreciation as a non-cash cost. Yes, The rate at which a machines life is consumed affects when its replacement needs to be purchased; however, the “current” planes and ships have already been purchased by the US taxpayer.
