There's a line of thinking that I agree with. This was never about drugs. Drugs and terrorism is just the legal cover. The real reason was to oust Maduro before China sinks it's claws in. Venezuela, Iran and Russia are crucial in a Chinese war against Taiwan. Venezuela doubly so. Not only can they be a crucial oil partner, but they make a pretty good missile base that could take out our own refining and Panama canal. This was taking Venezuela out of play for China to put the screws to us to leave them alone. The Taiwan war will happen. This was a chess move 100% revolving around it. This will not embolden China, it weakens China.
I voted for trump all 3 times but I'm very far from a fan boy. Less of 2 evils voting... But this was a very good move imo. Just hope they get things stabilized. Yup. You absolutely nailed it. Trump playing chess at very high levels. Thinking three steps ahead. He removed the bishop from the board, which is a very key piece to have. China is in a much weaker position today because of this bold action. Pretty fascinating to watch this play out. Wonder what his next move will be? He only has a limited time to get done what he feels needs to happen. He won’t take offensive action against China, and as somebody stated above, China won’t move on Taiwan while he’s in office. So he’s setting things up to make it easier for the next guy up to deal with them. |
