Subject: RE: gas prices

Ross County, Ohio

I never get gas in the cities. Years ago, I had to stop on the north side of Indianapolis. I had to drive a couple blocks and stopped at a BP. Never again. We had an 04 Buick Century that would get 24-27 mpg depending on how hard you pushed it. I fuel up and headed north up 65 toward Chicago. I told my wife,"You can literally watch the fuel gauge move and it doesn't have it's normal power." It was running fine, but just had nothing as far as power. Nearly 140 miles after that stop, I had to stop for fuel. Car was getting 13 mpg. One of the most trusted mechanics around here told me later,"Yeah a lot of the fuel in the large cites is garbage." That's when I started planning my stops as much as possible on any trip to anywhere.
