East Central, Nebraska
on the cash rent side the renter pays all the electricity and also pays for minor repairs. the owner usually pays for major repairs and keeps them insured as a fixed asset of the farm.

in a share crop situation the renter will pay their share of the electricity and the owner will pay their share.

as far as covering a neighbors, i think that can vary drastically. we have an agreement that charges a flat rate for rent and then they pay for their share/percentage of the electricity/fuel. i have seen where a person charges per pass, the good part of that if it gets used a lot you get paid for every pass but last year i had several pivots that didn't move and i still had payments due on them so that isnt always a great way either.
