China and Russia both have had pretty good sized mitts when it comes to relationship(s) with Venezuela.

Trump, along with dictators Xi and Putin, kinda seem to be relatively happy to divvy up the globe into 3 spheres and attempt to “own” the stuff/resources in their spheres of influence.

I would argue that pretty much the U.S. and capitalism has done a great job of production and efficiency and allowed folks to keep profits that they make.

But, Xi and Putin are more about TAKING and controlling stuff. Trump has always been a “taker” and not much of a maker or builder.

After WWII, when the “winners” basically let the losers rebuild and prosper with help from the winners, in exchange for elections and democracy, was a great system that lasted up until 2016.

Then we got tough with China on trade and told NATO they were on their own.
