Maybe you're not used to what silage looks and smells like. If your cows like it, that's a win. It does have a strong smell to it. I've been feeding baleage for years. I have much better luck when moisture is around 60%. My best bales are dripping when I take the plastic off. Under 50% and I get white mold, which is not bad but cows eat it slower.
