Do they have steers ready to go year round? My cows calve in the spring so generally this is the only time of year i have finished steers ready. As another poster mentioned getting a butcher date on short notice may be a problem. As long as you have the freezer space and are planning on getting another 1/2 anyway I'd just do it now
