I'm not the biggest trump fan... mainly because he's such a douche everytime he talks, but I agree with stopping drugs coming into the US.... I also realize that oil was probably the main reason in all of this.... didn't realize they had trillions worth in the reserves... very good play if we keep it.... or "give the people freedom and democracy" and over see it.
It’s been awhile since I’ve cared about “peak oil”.. been trying to survive. Despite all the shale oil hoop La.. which if you’re paying attention.. is leveling off.
Basically we’re still in the same trap. Find a pool.. drain it.. move on.. First there was Pennsylvania.. then Spindle top.. then Texas.. then Saudi Arabia.. then the Gulf.. etc.. then Shale Oil. All new discoveries.. developed.. then depleted.
Venezuela has 800 years at the piddly rate they are pumping.. but ramp that up.. (if you can) find enough refining to convert that.. (if you can) assuming that another war doesn’t come along.. (assuming that this one gets solved)..
The world economy continues to grow.. despite the US being a small part of the worlds population.. we’re #1 in demand.
From the stated reserves table I posted below.. all of the worlds reserves.. averages out to around 57 years of supply.. as usual we’ll find more.. and kick the can.. but as we’ve known before.. when we thought we were on the backside of the curve..rising prices.. limit growth.. making it a challenge.
Biden wanted to chart a course beyond Crude. Pipe dream.
Trump wants prosperity from cheaper energy.. which can last.. for a couple years.. but.. it only buys a short period.. yes.. maybe enough to squeeze Russia and turn the tables.. but.. only for a period of time.
que all the previous debates about peak oil.. “Well some day we’ll kick out the despots in Venezuela.. because we’ll have to.” Okay.. now checking that off the list.. as liberating Iraq.. conquering the Gulf of Mexico with rigs like the deep horizon.... the pipeline from the north slope of Alaska.. all did.
they only buy us time.
then back to the same problem. We still need to wean ourselves.. we’re only rearranging the deck chairs.. and who’s in control.. for now.
