How much oil did we "take control of" during all our adventures in the middle east? The point is to deny the Chinese first and bring it on the market later. Even if we don't control it, it will keep oil prices low, which is T's real goal. Venezuela oil is super heavy sour, which means expensive and difficult to bring to market, but the potential supply hanging over the market should keep prices contained.
