South Central Illinois | Seems like, WaterHemp is doing an end run around the available herbicide options. Some people actually grow crops organically. No idea how it is actually possible? Are intensively managed cover crops a viable weed control strategy? On the plus side, wheat can easily be grown without being taken over by WH. I suppose that a rotation of Wheat, Canola and CoverCress, could bypass some of the WaterHemp issues. This is probably a Niche Market idea. I suppose that crops will be planted later to allow more weed control prior to planting and to allow the crops to outgrow some of the weeds. Just pondering. |
