western NY | Same story you here Monroe and Livingston County NY. We used a JD 970 roller harrow with the teeth up to roll our soys for years and it worked very good. Before that we used an odl Bob Equipment roller and it worked but wasn't heavy enough to set the rocks in the ground. Two years ago we bought a R&J 30' roller and it works better than the roller harrow. Most of our soybeans are planted after one pass with the vertical till which helps keep the rocks at a minimum.
As for dry beans we just pick the rocks, I still cultivate and pull them so I have to just deal with the rocks | |
