I struggle at the 100 to 150 day range getting a size because it's way down over the pelvic ledge and difficult to pull up. After 150 it's fairly easy to judge the size of the buttons and thrombotic artery.
I know a couple vets here that have had their abilities go down hill after switching to ultrasound. Some dairymen are calling me to reconfirm whether the vet is right.
