south central IOWA | General's in the basement of the DeSoto hotel is a great place for supper with some pretty cool history.
Galena Taphouse has a chef that's unbelievable for a bar. Something you'd find at a 5 star restaurant and it's in a dive bar setting. We had a group of 30 guys that they shut the place down just for us and served us buffet style food, but everything we ate, I think we were all saying, OMG, this is the best. I'd like to think their everyday food would sit you back too.
