Mattchu60 - 1/2/2026 10:35 Those are pretty low Sep hours- which in a combine that means internal wear should be lower.

Internal wear is all about how much material has been through the machine.    900 hours carrying a 12 row corn head in 225+ bushel corn is a lot different than 900 hours carrying an 8 row corn head in 200 bushel corn.

I don't know a lot about JD combines but a red class 8 combine with 900 separator hours on it that's been pushed hard in high yielding corn could be due for a lot of work pretty soon.

Spot on.
Sense the OP said 2 million bushel total….head size and bushel per acre really don’t matter…..

He gave that info after everyone said head size and bushels mattered.

His bushels vs the separator hours suggest that it most likely did not have a 12 row corn head on it.       And yes, the BPH flow rate that the combine is run at does matter.    The more material you pack through a combine per hour, the faster it wears.     Friction causes heat, heat causes metal to wear faster.
