coast of Maine | The real reason there are 1000's of rebuilt or salvage titled vehicles every week is the word "TITLED'.The flow of damaged vehicles would grind to a halt if the insurance companies had to hold the vehicles until the banks got the loan payoff which the insurance co wont pay off till they have said title. The salvage title is issued, the car is auctioned,(there is a huge demand for these autos even if just for parts)and many repaired. The general fear exists in the un knowing publics eyes.I lined up a really nice car "Salvage title" for my daughter,it was in California, she was concerned ,,I said I would keep it myself if she had issues.I drove it 1000 miles to her home.Asked her if she was going to drive the wheels off first.Yes.So the resale value(fear) was not there. She saved well in excess of 20,000$ (also the interest if financed)and has no payment. There is no difference as long as you know autos.Billy bob whom traded in his WRX just got done doing 2000 sliding/drifting videos with it,,,Maryjane's insurance co totaled her WRX (on the way to church,,after hitting a deer),,,which auto would be the better unit?No titles need to flow thru the mail etc with the salvage titled system in place here.Adjuster totals, money sent to lender.lender chucks title, ins co sells car and gets paid,,sells another insurance policy to the next new car..bank starts another loan on an upgraded auto...all make money except the sap with a fancier new car payment.. | |
