Is there anything stopping you from using it the way it is? It sounds like you won't use it very much. I bought a very well used Rodgers 50 ton from work. It looks rough, has a lot of rust, but it works fine for the few times a year it gets used.

we hve a couple bad ones
then I saw a non ground bearing had a crown and air ride moved a semi
now we have "new boards" were the front tires ran
has d rings on the main rails, so we can chain to the main carriage instead of the tracks "short chains "
