If you are unable to keep an eye on heifers there is a lot to like. Heifers calves easily and I think breed back better. Calves are up quick and eating quick. But of course a calf that finishes at 1100 pounds takes a beating at sale time. I'm admittedly not a good cattleman, and using them makes things easier for sure, but I know it is probably not the most profitable thing I do.
