East of Broken Bow | My wife has a Ninja, no complaints.
We make home made potato chips in it.
Slice the potatoes. Getting every slice the same thickness is more important than how thick they are. Thinner is crispier, thicker is more 'hearty'.
Spread out the slices on a towel until the surface appears dry. Then you can either:
1) spray them with PAM or similar spray cooking oil - just enough to get them damp - then sprinkle a little popcorn salt on top or
2) mix a little popcorn salt in oil, and dip them in the oil, and shake the 'drips' off them.
The PAM spray uses less oil, if you are on a diet, dipping makes them a little crispier. The popcorn salt is the secret ingredient. It is ground fine, like a powder, instead of granules. Sticks to the chips better, and spreads easier and more evenly. You can even use flavored popcorn salt, I like the butter flavor myself.
Preheat the air fryer to 325-350 (depending on how crispy you like them) and cook until they crisp, from 4 to 8 minutes depending on how thick you cut them. | |
