Adobe was pretty average software at one time, but is now irritatingly unstable and bug ridden.
I would suggest, right click the .pdf file, navigate to 'open with' and select Firefox. If you don't have or don't like Firefox, hopefully other agtalkers can chime in with another suggestion.
