Branson has lots to do for families, but its not nessessarily cheap. It will be starting to wake up from winter slumber for spring break in mid march. Weather could be all over the board though. could be sunny and 70, or 30 and snowing. Sometimes in the same day. Silver Dollar City theam park is very good, as far as theam parks go. lots of go carts and mountain coasters in Branson
If you do go to Branson stop in Springfield MO at Bass Pro, which is its National headquarters, next door is Bass Pro Aquarium which is very good. Bas pro is free, Aquarium is not
If you and family are into nature and hiking, there are some great trails in Jasper Ark (south of Branson) with plenty of cabins to rent that are reasonable and the hiking is free. If you want to pursue that I can recommend some places
Bentonville/Eureka springs Ark is great for adults, but kids would probably be board there
