Southeast Colorado | I usually keep a whip in hand when working the cows...........but really don't have to use it much. Flags would probably be better. I probably over stated our ability to stay out of the alley..........but I have set it up where a quick grab of the gate will put it between me and the animals. What it really boils down to is that I'm the primary one in with the cows. My wife will occasionally be there.........but she doesn't like it.......haha! Don't get me wrong.........she's always there helping. Just doesn't fancy getting run over much......LOL. We're kind of a two man operation. And 75 head a day is a big event. But I do like my home made Bud Box. The cows and calves easily flow through. I've worked many times in other people's set ups where the opposite of that's true. So I know the difference.
