Windom, MN | I bought a salvage Buick in 2000, so things may have changed a lot since then.
It was my school car, put 100,000 mostly trouble free miles on that car. Transmission went out 6 months after I bought it but that was my fault. Hit something on the road and dented the tranny fluid pan right at the pickup and starved the transmission of oil so it burnt up.
Was a front end hit and under the car there was 1 spot I could see damage yet but it didn’t affect the driving. The fender and door on the passenger side didn’t quite match up either, think it was about 1/8 to 1/16 of an inch off or so.
Didn’t care because I paid cash, and got it for $4,000 when comparable non salvage cars were priced around $9,000.
Would I buy another salvage car? If the price was right I would, only thing I’d avoid is a flood vehicle. Especially now with all of the electronics. | |
