Added tariffs shouldn’t hurt USA exports much. China has to eat. Just as I have too. Just cost the Chinese people more till world herd gets built back. At least it’s goooood USA quality. Worse thing for herd building would be $5.50 corn. Glad we sitting at $4.
I mainly stalk this forum to learn, so teach me please.
The statement above seems backward to me. What I interpreted - High corn means less herd building, low corn means more herd building.
In my mind, low corn would cause feedlots to bid higher on cattle due to low cost of gain. Making it more desirable for ranchers to take the payday. Why breed them? Cattle number keep shrinking.
High corn would cause feedlots to bid lower on cattle because cost of gain is too high. Therefore driving cattle prices down. Ranchers say, lets just breed them? Herd numbers increase.
I am not arguing. Just want to know why my brain don't work right here.
