It is hard to estimate due to the differences in areas, soil type, etc. but I would think if corn is possible without issues, rye would be worth a shot too. Tile is generally deeper here but I've never had rye or corn plug a tile. I have heard of reed's canarygrass plugging lines but I have never personally seen that either. Willow, Austree and Cottonwood is almost guaranteed.
