Wisconsin | On the contrary, insurance for school bus conversions is almost impossible to get, so probably expensive? but I don't know because never actually found it in the real world. An RV is $125/year from progressive, and that's not immaculate credit or driving record. The school bus, or greyhound/tour bus people say you get a safer more solid base than an RV, but they're also wore out. An RV is rarely worn out in the chassis, often wore out in the house part, and aged brakes and tires, but not as worn chassis wise.
The B's are a lot better in the wind than C's and A's. They put a lot of weight into some of them, and they don't have the overhangs. I hear the sprinter is reliable, but also ridiculously expensive to maintain. 18mpg is nice compared to 8, but you'll pay it all back in dealer maintenance if you're not willing to convert to german maintenance regimes. I noticed a lot of 4wd sprinters and higher "overlanding" vehicles this fall, but also noticed all of them had shinier tread than my minivan. | |
