Unfortunately, I think you are right when you point out new prices won't be coming down anytime soon.
Manufacturers are going to cover costs, plus whatever margin they think the market can handle.
MUD deals will still exist (scale matters) however discounts for MUD may not be as large as in the past
Good used equipment gets snapped up fast, then comes the drought
it takes some good years for people buying new to generate the used units
None of us is big enough to drive the market, and for many of the manufactures, the purchaser is not the ultimate customer that needs to be satisfied.
