Here , almost all tiled is install with sock because there is enough sand in areas of our subsoil that it will get into the tile and fill it. We had wheat roots get in a clay tile and plug it one time…… so I am nervous about shallow tile filing with rye or wheat roots. Not sure if the sock protects it or not.
