Milwaukee has tended to focus more on the trades than homeowners and it has allowed them to build products for undeserved markets where buyers are willing to spend more for a tool but it has to perform well. Up until five or so years ago I would say Dewalt dominated over Milwaukee in the woodworking/general construction market, now I would say they are neck and neck and right up there with some of the "commercial" grade brands like Hilti or Festool. Milwaukee getting aggressive in the mechanic tools market probably changed that market more than I've seen anywhere else.
We are very slow to change over in the mechanic world , kind of how it works is , the fellow that taught you is a snap- on guy .Then you are also .
Milwalkee , did it fast .
All it takes is one guy in the shop to try it , then loan it to others . It takes off line a grass fire .
The friend that got me on milwalkee , hes passed now . He was respected , and i was too .
I then tried it and touught it was the way to go .
I know some people on here will say they are not good , but im sure they will take truck shop abuse . We really abused tools , salt and short times to do job . We were going to break the tool , or get the job done .
We have actually broke a few snappy tools .Abuse of course .
I have a set of their wrenches in my welding trailer 5/16-1” They have teeth in open end like s snappy . Ill say they are way off on that deal .
Their hand tools have a long way to go to get to pro quality .
Good enough to use in the field , every day . Im going with hell no . |
