Installed a 'Watchdog' dryer monitor with LAN connection, CAT6 feed from router. When near the dryer and having WIFI signal dryer info and control was available on Apple smart phone. When leaving this site WIFI would be lost and connection
with dryer was gone. Would a update with current 'GSI Connect' monitor provide a solution to my problem?
I may not understand your situation completely but I'm guessing you are losing Wi-Fi when you get away from the general area of the dryer?
I have some devices that use what I think of as Direct Wi-Fi between a camera and my phone. This is sometimes referred to as a Soft Access Point. This means the Internet is not used nor needed. That's good because Internet access is not always available at my bins. The bad part is that the signal is too weak and gets lost if the distance is too great. For loading trucks this isn't a problem since I'm right there close.
My cameras could be setup to use the Internet and then I could view the camera from pretty much anywhere. Possibly that is your situation although it sounds like you have a connection to your router. Possibly the problem is with a setting in the phone itself. |
