Yes, give the vaccine and booster it. Iowa's green tag program requires one dose, gold tag program requires two doses. I have used vision 7/somus -2cc/dose on a ton of cattle. It includes seven strains of clostridium plus somnus. Give it subcutaneous. Years ago there was ultrabac 7/somnus that was a 5 cc dose that was pretty tough on cattle. I always felt it was the clostridium portion of the vaccine that was tough on cattle, not the somnus.
I've always felt the clostridium portion of many of these vaccines were hard on calves, especially 2-3 mouth old. Give it one day and they drag around for 2-3 days after.
