We have double hinged gates in our hog barn. They simply have a hinge on each end. The pivot has a single pin that runs from top to bottom hinge. Pull the pin on the end you want open . The original pins were offset canes so we only needed to raise it a few inches to unlatch. When they became unusable we replaced them with a single straight rod.
