Are you on Medicare? Generally, folks seem to be pleased with services and coverages afforded by Medicare. I do know several folks that put off treatment for issues until Medicare covered them. Way more of those than I've known Medicare to try and delay coverage.
3 sets of grandparents and numerous relatives right now have and still talk about how Medicare told them their issue wasn't bad enough to cover.
The most notable one I recall right now was cataracts. They graded them on a scale of 1 to 5. My relative had a two. Medicare wouldn't cover until a 3. Doctor recommended doing something at 2 as 3 and above advanced fast. A year later they were a 4 and there were concerns of it may actually be a 5 which they did not feel safe operating on without causing complete blindness as an unintended side effect.
So for your normal "sniffles" sickness or when you are taken by ambulance it may cover well but in between trying to prevent an easily preventable condition from worsening they don't cover squat. Quite a few of my family have paid out of pocket because Medicare wouldn't cover it because it wasn't bad enough.
One does not need to experience every problem to study and warn others. Sometimes listening is all what is needed.
Medicare and SS is currently forecasted to be bankrupt long before I could even consider it, but thats not your problem, or not one that will affect you anyways.
