East Palestine, Ohio (Columbiana Co.) | Getting good flow of fuel to carb. It would run sitting in driveway------sort of. From 800 to 1200rpm fairly smooth then rough from 1200 to 2000 rpm, then smooth back out at 2000 thru 2400. Reset the timing(by ear, not with a light) and re-gapped the points. This is all sitting in driveway,---soon as I go to drive it away I have to pull the choke out to make it go. I thought maybe if I worked it a little it might straighten out. So I put 2-3 hours in on the york rake with no change. Points and condenser are new, so maybe change the coil to improve spark?? I still have the old condenser maybe I'll try putting it back on first and see if that does anything. This motor should still be pretty fresh as its only clocked 183 hours since overhaul, and has been apart 2x since then. Would really like to get this thing right as it's almost time to put the mower on!!
Thanks for all the help, everybody........The Dumb Farmer |
