Crawfordsville, Arkansas | In a dry year we were going through a full 7,700 gallon transport of fuel a week running pivots, rice wells and the soybean wells. Lots of weeks we would go to grab an extra 1-2k of fuel to get us through the weekend.
Years ago I did the custom wheat harvest for a summer. 8 combines and carts to go along with them would go through 2,000 gallons a day. Each service truck had a 1k fuel tank. Fill them both each morning and that would get us started but someone would run back to town and get more to top everyone off by dark. No idea what the trucks went through, not as much as the combines for sure but I bet they were going through 1,000 gallons a day themselves. | |
