Eastern WA | Indian wheat. Apache comes up here and Apache comes up there.
But in all seriousness, it’s soft white winter wheat. We are in a dry area so it’s all winter wheat/summer fallow rotation. That hill side is a steep soft south slope so when we early seed in August, not everything comes up. So we come back once we get rains in October/November we will patch in with disc drills. A lot of times the patched in wheat won’t yield great but it helps keep the weeds down.
There is one guy in our area that has tried peas so it’s not really tried and true here yet. But should give us a good option for cleaning up cheat grass. And hopefully have a better return than a spring wheat crop. | |
