I would not put much faith in a vet that told me to skip dewormer on half the heard. If that’s your plan, just skip them all.
Protein is required to make a cows gut digest properly. A cow can’t break down corn stalks without some protein to feed the microbes in the gut.
Are we making weak engines by using oil?
Not sure how protien got into this discussion and I never said vet said 1/2 as I recall the vet talking the neighborhood of 15-20 percent, I personally question in a well mangaed rotationally grazed system the need or the wisdom of worming a cow/calf herd. |
