Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning. | I don't know how old you are?? I am too old to have been affected by ACA but my impression has been that it was head and shoulders above getting decent coverage when not a member of a group. Rates for a man and wife were brutal and coverage was poor. The lady that sold me our final, BCBS state subsidized policy was married to a farmer that was trying to stay covered. She said that it was a race to make Medicare age before a big medical bill bankrupted the farm. If or when Medicare does run out of money and you get to be 65 or so, what is your plan to preserve your assets in event of a major medical bill? I'm pretty sure that I'll be gone before the collapse of Medicare, so it's not a problem I need to dwell on but what is your plan? I shudder to think of what a decent plan would cost for someone who is 70+, with major health issues. |
