How do I get started with Organic crops?

I actually rented an organic farm 39 years ago.
At least they were working towards it.
No fertilizer had been applied for a few years.
No herbicides had been applied for a few years.
Weeds were an issue. Fertilizer was depleted.
Supposedly it could have qualified as organic the next year.
I did not know how to do organic crops.
We rebuilt the fertilizer levels.
Used herbicides to control weeds.
