You sure it's a Cobett?
My Cobett does not have a riser pipe, there is nothing for the float to wedge against, the only way it would overflow would be if the valve failed (or I suppose if a cow pressed down on the float and held it down long enough).
The only thing in the trough is the float, with a cord attached that leads down to the float at the bottom of the trough.
It's a cobbett
Water comes in an inlet pipe at the bottom that the valve is attached to and the string and ball attach to the valve lever. Cattle drink water down, play with ball and wedge it so it is stuck at the bottom between valve and wall.
Also had the dang ball break free from the string and water run continuously in the summer.
Buying a cobett is buying job security!
I've had many people reach out to me and agree with me on their dislike of cobetts out side of NAT.
So for every like I bet there is a dislike. Most won't say it on here. |
