Malta, Illinois | That has always been my feeling about these plans. People report huge savings and seem well satisfied. I think most of those people are younger and relatively healthy. Any plan or no plan works well under those circumstances. As people age there are more complex issues that require greater care. Can people get the care they need where they want to get it or are their limitations on where you can go and what you can have done? How about the young family that has an emergency premature birth that requires weeks or months in the PICU? What about the unusual instance of an otherwise healthy 30 year old man or woman who is abruptly diagnosed with cancer that requires months of treatment? Do these plans perform under those circumstances? There are a lot of folks who are fortunate enough to be extremely healthy most of their lives with few issues. These plans would work well for them. Those who are not that lucky and think they have coverage with these plans could find themselves in a very bad situation if disaster strikes. | |
