There are a couple of things I forgot to mention. The engine only has a primary diesel filter, where the secondary diesel filter fits there is a cap screwed on.
Before the loss of power, the primary filter (which is the element type), we had to change it every two weeks because the glass bowl kept filling up to the top, to the (change element level), when ever it got to that point the engine would misfire. The mechanic changed the element to the screw on type cat diesel filter and nothing changed and the engine got progressively slower.
