SW WI | Yes just grind what we feed in a day. If 1 part of the process ( bin unload, roller mill, load auger) goes down we have backup plan to get cattle fed, probably just pulling whole corn from some other bin if it's more than a quick fix.
I've got 2 different roller mill setups for myself. I like back up plans. Silo has the bigger mill. Small grain bin has no floor or fan so can only put dry corn in there. I've had 17% in fall and use right away.
My mills are set so I could fill a wagon from another bin, put a portable truck unload auger at wagon to feed incline auger going to 1 of the mills...then business as usual. Just the backup to the backup or pulling tops and centers off storage bins in spring.
The pic with the truck is how I would haul to the farm where my son now feeds and built the bin. I would haul hmc out of the silo setup, also.
