| Back in the 90's, I had a single axle tractor to pull goose neck trailers. What we did, was to mount the trailer ball behind the 5th wheel, then built a steel frame that U-bolted to the tractor frame, filled with concrete, that locked into the 5th wheel, it was also chained to the tractor frame. I would agree on the Allison transmission. Eventually the tractor was upgraded to one w/FWD. Pulled goose neck trailers, and NH3 tanks with it. | |
