The programming for GM Allison is proprietary, you'll need a light duty GM pickup level scanner. Even as an Allison certified shop I could not technically work on GM pickups. It's been a couple years but I don't think Allison software would even hook to GM pickups to scan codes. We always had a Tech2 on the shelf

Limp mode should be 3rd gear I believe. So if you are in 1st and not shifting issue could be completely different than if it's in hydraulic default (limp)

The light coming on definitely indicates TCM function and that it's powered up.

How cold is cold, there is cold shift programming but it would have to be sub zero to cause any type of range inhibitor.

Is the light check trans or range inhibitor
