I read on here all time and university reasearch need all this N to do it. No you dont. Intensive grazing, move mineral and salt feeder daily and you get more manure spread out and get enough N that way. If you want to put on very few lbs its ok. But definitely dont need a heavy dose of N. But i prefer to plant 2 crops of a feed vs grass, then graze pasture next to it for a true rotational graze. We are getting basically 7-8 months a yr out of it this way. If consider corn stalks too. Graze 10.5 months a yr
