Wife and I had Christian Care Medishare for a few years before I was full time with USPS. The rates started out fairly cheap but every time anyone in the plan had a birthday the rate would jump. I was surprised how high the rates got in just a couple years. The other thing is they can refuse to pay any time they don't want to. There was a clause that refused payment if you got in an accident and weren't wearing your seatbelt or had drank ANY alcohol even if you weren't legally drunk. They could also decide you'd been paid enough and quit paying even if you still had on going medical issues. After I got on federal Blue Cross Blue Shield just trying to cancel was a nightmare. Customer service is terrible and took multiple calls plus you would always be on hold for 30 minutes or more. There might be good sharing plans out there but I sure don't recommend Medishare. |
